Quadrivas explained in English

Quadrivas Therapy is a paramedic body treatment that can significantly alleviate symptoms and conditions related to vascular and tissue health. Diseases such as Lymphedema and Lipedema, as well as chronic pain and rehabilitation after an accident are some of the many applications of Quadrivas.

The Quadrivas therapist looks at the human body as both an anatomical and physiological unit, a combination of structure and function, that equally effect one another. Foundational to the Quadrivas method is that there are four systems: vascular, neurological, lymphatic and biochemical. These pathways within the body are always working together to maintain homeostasis and fight disease. Quadrivas Therapy directly stimulates and activates these four pathways to ensure that they are well coordinated, but with a central focus on the vascular system.

Regain fit blood vessels

A healthy body starts with fit blood vessels. Quadrivas Therapy uses deep manual scraping and hooking techniques, that with consistent sessions over a period of time, ensures a complete repair of the blood vessels. Fibrosis and fascial adhesions dissolve. Oxygen and nutrients find their way back to the body’s cells. This unique manual technique activates the microcirculation and improves blood flow to all of the tissues. The metabolism in the muscles is activated. Once the blood vessel health is restored, muscle mass increases and body fat decreases. Excess fluid is drained, which has has an overall slimming effect, as well as inhibiting the formation of new fat and moisture deposits. Better circulation also has a moisturizing effect on the skin, making it soft and smooth.

Quadrivas Therapy works on the entire body, in the form of tissue manipulation, from the top of the head to the tips of the fingers and toes. Activating all layers of the fascial tissue. The abdominal area is treated, helping to release fat deposits, stimulating digestion and activating the underlying organs. Muscles, joints and ligaments are more flexible. Cellular waste and excess fat are released from the tissues. The self-healing capacity of the body is re-awakened through the activation and restored cooperation between the four pathways.

Janneke Smitstra, Manual Vascular Quadrivas Specialist:

“Using my hands to make a person feel better brings me great happiness. Sharpening and developing my technique and skills as a therapist are equally important to me. The innovative Quadrivas therapy is incredibly powerful, provided it’s performed properly. I can’t imagine another therapy that is as effective for so many different conditions.

After years of working as an oncology nurse, I stumbled upon a news article about Quadrivas Therapy. I was inspired and my interest piqued. Intensive manual treatments, combined with lifestyle and nutritional advice, that sounded like a wonderful profession to me. So I started the basic training at the Quadrivas Academy in 2010, and then completed the advanced practitioner training in 2014. Years of training (an average of 6 years) in exactly the right technique is necessary to effectively boost the metabolism of the tissue, break down fibrosis formation and repair blood vessels. Not easy to learn, but luckily I like a challenge.

At the age of fifty, I decided to quit my part-time job at the hospital, because it was no longer possible to do both nursing and Quadrivas, since there was such a great flow of interest in this ground-breaking therapy.

My clinic has been around for 13 years now, and I hope to be able to practice this profession for a long time to come, because Quadrivas helps so many people that have given up hope in healing their chronic conditions and this gives me great satisfaction.”

Indications for Quadrivas Therapy:

  • Lipedema
  • Lymphedema
  • Diabetes
  • Poorly healing wounds
  • Rehabilitation after an accident
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic Pain
  • Vascular Insufficiency

Note on Lipedema:

Many women with lipedema come to my clinic for treatment. Since I’ve been in practice, so much experience has been gained about this condition that we as a profession dare to say that Quadrivas is the only non-invasive treatment for lipedema. Stages 1 and 2 are fully reversible, in stage 3, a recovery rate of 50 to 80 percent can be achieved. The associated symptoms disappear as a result and are no longer chronic. Lipedema does not return with Quadrivas Therapy.
